Why should I consider replacing an old collar with a new collar?

Old collars have a tendency to get brittle with age which means the become a bit more delicate. An older collar with either break into multiple pieces which need to be removed carefully with a pick or the wont “pop” at all and instead they’ll develop stress cracks. Which means you have a shear collar that’s only half functional and cause strange or erratic impression quality.
