Duplexing - Letterpress Invitations and Business Cards

Duplexing is a term used to describe gluing two sheets of paper to each other (back to back) to create a much thicker final sheet. This is done quite often in letterpress printing to hide the ghosted dents from the impact of the press. This way we can print a deep impression into both sides of the card without worrying about ruining the opposing side. All that said - Natalie - our lady of the night (cause she works evenings) is obsessed with this practice. She's always pumped to do some gluing and get those crop marks EXACT. This work can be tedious but when you've got a love for the details like Natalie - it's a party. I swear it almost looks like she's having fun. More power to her! IMG_3341

We can duplex or triplex, or whatever-plex so if you have a project in need, let us know!

Design for Letterpress - Part 3

A quick update: We're checking back in today after a few busy weeks. We've had a lot of great inquiries and meetings with some really nice couples. We also squeezed in a snowmobiling trip in Northern Wisconsin last weekend! We've submitted our plate artwork for the letterpress coasters as well as some additional artwork for a letterpress party invitation we're creating! The plates should show up on Thursday along with the coasters. From there, we're gonna throw some ink on the press and turn these things out! We're VERY excited to report that in just a few days we'll have photos of the completed project posted our blog. xo - Dick and Jane Letterpress
