Big Fake Wedding!

What a success! If you're not familiar with the Big Fake Wedding, definitely check them out! We recently took part in their Minneapolis event at Le Meridien Chambers Hotel by producing a custom invitation suite geared to fit their wedding theme. Our design aesthetic was "Folk-Floral-Fabulous!" We created a custom gold foil and digital print along with a matching rsvp, envelopes with printed labels, coasters and novelty tags. The different finish techniques we used included duplexing invitations and rsvps, foil stamped invites, foil stamped rsvps, die cutting labels, letterpress coasters, and some fun twine binding to finish it all off.

We attended the completely SOLD OUT  faux wedding, met with guests, had dinner, partied and danced the night away alongside out other participating vendors and guests. We'll definitely be doing this again!

Can you feel it!

Maybe it's just us but around here, it's already starting to feel like spring! We've made it through the grey part of the winter and the sun is shining. We just got a picture sent from a photographer ASHLEYMICHELLE who got a fabulous shot of one of our invitation sets completed back in 2014. So much VIBE! The set features fuscia and gold foil with calligraphy, color coordinated envelopes and FANTASTIC envelope liners! I'm looking at this arrangement as a whole and it's a real marvel. Thanks so much to the client and photography studio for sending this over. - You're the best!

Letterpress Save-the-Date Coasters!

Another fabulous design submitted by Bill Coombs. Bill is a local designer who flies somewhat under the radar. He specializes in Wedding Invitation Designs and creates some really fun stuff. Bubblegum Pink and Navy ink on a super heavy weight 4" coaster stock. These coasters always suck up a ton of ink so we had to add a couple things to the to get it flowing just right. If you're looking for letterpress coaster, let us know. We can do both circle and squares, 3.5" or 4" or custom sizes/shapes as needed!

Something New - Something Blue!

Greetings to all you letterpress people! We've been a bit busy organizing the new shop but have now found the time to finally get back to the letterpress blog. Featured today is a special treat from a good friend of Dick and Jane Letterpress by the name of Nicole DeRosa. Nicole creates handmade clam shell boxes and hand bound journals for babies, births, scrapbooking, and brides-to-be. Shown below is a clam shell box and journal made for Dick and Jane Letterpress featuring a canvas blue and metallic silver seagull motif celebrating the birth of our new son. Nicole works with us regularly to create beautiful things for brides-to-be. Check out her Etsy shop, Signature Handmades, for more work.

New Letterpress Shop for Dick and Jane Letterpress

Can you believe it!?!? It's only been a year since we arrived here in the Minneapolis, St Paul area. It's been an exciting year, with lots of growth. New presses, interns, and babies (or at least one baby). With the great year we've decided to move to somewhat larger digs. We're moving to 2500 University Ave. Unit D6. New shop features hardwood floors, twelve-foot ceiling, and five presses. Above is a pic of the space prior to our moving. We will be sure to post updated shop pics once we are all settled in. Until then, much love to all you fabulous letterpress people. Check back often for more updates.

xoxo
