These sat on the table begging to be photographed for months but we'd just been too busy to get a photo session in. Finally, we managed to make it happen this afternoon. True to our city, here's a really wonderful Minneapolis skyline wedding invitation set we did for T&M. We talked about a few different directions for the invitation set but once we worked up the art for the city skyline, the answer was clear and we ran with it! Katie Evans has been involved here at Dick and Jane for years. She started as an intern helping out with all sorts of projects as she finished school. Katie has since gone on to work with a number of other companies offering her unique design/illustration style across the Twin Cities. You can check out her work at hellokatieevans.comWe recently commissioned Katie to help us create this totally jaw dropping letterpress invitation design. Every letter, every line, completely hand drawn by Katie. We're calling it "Love Blooms Eternal". The design was released at the October TCBA Wedding Show in Minneapolis receiving a wealth of positive feedback. We've since begun the fall/winter process of working on a collection of new designs for the Spring season. Katie will be creating at least 2-3 more illustrations in her one-of-a-kind style. Each of Katie's designs (including Love Blooms Eternal) are being added to the collection line up. Clients simply submit their text and Katie illustrates the entire piece. 100% hand drawn, hand lettered, and 100% guaranteed to knock peoples socks off!

Another fabulous design submitted by Bill Coombs. Bill is a local designer who flies somewhat under the radar. He specializes in Wedding Invitation Designs and creates some really fun stuff. Bubblegum Pink and Navy ink on a super heavy weight 4" coaster stock. These coasters always suck up a ton of ink so we had to add a couple things to the to get it flowing just right. Don't know if any of you brides or grooms have had a chance to pick up the fall/winter 2010 issue of Minnesota Bride Magazine? Dick and Jane Letterpress is proud to announce that we have been featured on page 40 in a little article called "In Living Color". This article features "some personality with bright, bold, eye-catching invitation design." Featured is a recently commissioned Twins-themed invitation suite. Our new wedding invite showcases a whimsical, light design inspired by the “river town”, Baton Rouge. Romantic, elegant, and composed, our design is a reference to the Victorian-style architecture so well known in Baton Rouge. The script in the center of the letterpress design imitates the illustrated borders with its varying line width and calligraphic properties. Classical and soft, perfect for any wedding.
