Featured Wedding!

Finally got my hands on a few of the pictures from Katie and Aaron's wedding. Their wedding was featured on the Knot some time ago but I'd had a really hard time finding the pics to upload. Today I was surprised to see that the images and the original feature were magically linked to our Knot profile! Katie is an amazing illustrator and she and Aaron designed the invitation suite together. Together with Dick & Jane, we nailed down the colors, paper and final details. Everything turned out wonderfully and the pics from the ceremony/reception were just AMAZING! Have a look for yourself!

Maybe it's just us but around here, it's already starting to feel like spring! We've made it through the grey part of the winter and the sun is shining. We just got a picture sent from a photographer ASHLEYMICHELLE who got a fabulous shot of one of our invitation sets completed back in 2014. So much VIBE! The set features fuscia and gold foil with calligraphy, color coordinated envelopes and FANTASTIC envelope liners! I'm looking at this arrangement as a whole and it's a real marvel. Thanks so much to the client and photography studio for sending this over. - You're the best!

We at D & J drink coffee - lots and LOTS of coffee. And we got to thinking, why not give something back to our local coffee joint? As we started thinking about expanding into new materials, we did a test run of coffee koozies for our the nearby Round Table Coffee Works. Now the locally-roasted fresh brew looks as good as it tastes :) Keep a lookout for us - we might be around your favorite coffee cup, next!

We're still working on a good name for this latest Save the Date design. Our matching Invitation design has already been printed and will be making its debut shortly. Love it!

It's been a busy month in the studio with the holidays fast approaching. We just finished up these sweet double sided business cards on 2-ply paper. We can't get enough of this color combo!

We are very excited to announce that Dick and Jane Letterpress has been featured in the seasons issue of Mpls St Paul Magazine's Wedding edition in an article titled "Letter Perfect." Four separate pieces were featured in this 5 page article including a letterpress plane ticket, an oversized full-bleed Script sample titled "Hollywood". A customer submitted design for the Lucas' and a wonderfully popular Letterpress Coaster design. Here are a few photos from the article. Don't know if any of you brides or grooms have had a chance to pick up the fall/winter 2010 issue of Minnesota Bride Magazine? Dick and Jane Letterpress is proud to announce that we have been featured on page 40 in a little article called "In Living Color". Kari Jacobsen visited Dick and Jane Letterpress with lots of great ideas in need of a little interpretation. We quickly settled on this unique double border letterpress wedding invitation. Note the line and dot pinstripe and the detailed embellishments  surrounding the bride and grooms names. Elegant and simple, the design takes a simple typographic approach and pairs it with detailed illustrations (note the tiny crown). It is contemporary, eclectic, and fresh. 1. An A7 is the most common size for Wedding Invitations. 2. An A1 is the most common size for your rsvp. 3. While an RSVP postcard is definitely super cool - it can often be more expensive than a standard A1 and envelope because a postcard usually requires printing on both sides. 4. Can you switch up sizes for something more outside the norm... ABSOLUTELY. Just be sure to consider envelope size restrictions. 5. Accompanying cards can come in any size you want. It all depends on how much info you want to fit.

Spring is coming! Inquiries are starting to ramp up as the snow melts. Dick and Jane Letterpress has been busy working through the new year and into the wedding season. We've produced a number of birth announcements and location wedding invitations. Save-the dates have also been quite popular in the last months. We've been so busy in fact that we have somewhat neglected our letterpress blog maintenance. Many apologies for that. The perfect addition to the letterpress blog. These letterpress wedding invitations are one of our favorites of the year! The design and printing were commissioned by Bill and Moira for their February wedding. They had a birch and snow idea in mind. As it so happened, one of our designers had just been in the process of sketching up a birch tree design! We made a few revisions and incorporated a flurry of snow using the couples wedding colors. Custom designed by Dick and Jane Letterpress, these invitations turned out completely out of the world. Have a look!
