Katie Evans has been involved here at Dick and Jane for years. She started as an intern helping out with all sorts of projects as she finished school. Katie has since gone on to work with a number of other companies offering her unique design/illustration style across the Twin Cities. You can check out her work at hellokatieevans.comWe recently commissioned Katie to help us create this totally jaw dropping letterpress invitation design. Every letter, every line, completely hand drawn by Katie. We're calling it "Love Blooms Eternal". The design was released at the October TCBA Wedding Show in Minneapolis receiving a wealth of positive feedback. We've since begun the fall/winter process of working on a collection of new designs for the Spring season. Katie will be creating at least 2-3 more illustrations in her one-of-a-kind style. Each of Katie's designs (including Love Blooms Eternal) are being added to the collection line up. Clients simply submit their text and Katie illustrates the entire piece. 100% hand drawn, hand lettered, and 100% guaranteed to knock peoples socks off!

We are gearing up for another exciting wedding show at the Convention center in Downtown Minneapolis. We are at booth number 657. Been super busy this year with all sorts of really fun jobs. I hardly have a chance to snap any photos and get the letterpress blog updated. Finished early yesterday and the sun was just right so I put a little camera time in. Here's a letterpress coaster we finished for a gal in Colorado. She did the design work herself and everything turned out really really nice. Enjoy!

Now Boarding all Brides and Grooms. Nickie came to us with a really cool opportunity to do a Plane ticket themed wedding invitation set! We sat down together and went back and forth over all sorts of design options. We settled with 1-color on a #10 card with all the info and a ticket stub perforation running down one side (similar to the wild tickets from a few months back). Erin came to us a few months back with a love for whimsical eclectic letterpress wedding invitations. More importantly, she required lots of pointy fingers. Her exact quote was “the more pointy fingers, the better”, and we couldn’t agree more! This invite suite incorporates seven different typestyles along with all sorts of fun quirky embellishments.
